Abstract
Cloned plants are widely distributed and dominate many ecosystems. Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. is a typical clonal plant with strong ability of rhizome expansion, which is widely distributed in the provinces south of the Yellow River in China. Understanding its clonal characteristics has certain reference value for future production, application and management. From 2006 to 2007, Wuhan Botanical Garden cooperated with the University of Northern Colorado in the United States to carry out the research on cloning ecology of Cynodon dactylon, and the relevant research results were published on Flora (296 (2022) 152163). Based on this paper, this data mainly includes water experiment, top advantage experiment, and root competition experiment. This data helps to understand the relationship between aboveground horizontal stems of cloned plants, water acquisition, and underground competition.
