Camellia plants are mainly distributed on both sides of the Tropic of Cancer in East Asia, and are most abundant in Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong and Sichuan in China. Most plants in this genus have high economic and ornamental value. There are 74 species of
Camellia in Central China. From 2004 to 2013, Wuhan Botanical Garden focused on the collection and conservation of
Camellia plants. This data set includes the field introduction data of 34 species of
Camellia in Wuhan Botanical Garden, including serial number, introduction registration number, Latin family name, Chinese family name, Latin genus name, Chinese genus name, Latin name (excluding nominees), Chinese name, Latin name, Latin name (tentative), Chinese name (tentative), introduction date, introduction personnel, initial planting site, introduction site details, introduction quantity, introduction materials, material status, introduction source Sampling method, editing personnel, creation date, and comments. The introduction personnel include Xu Wenbin, Zhang Shoujun, Zan Yanyan, Liu Songbai, Wang Chang, Peng Fushong, Zhao Zien, Ding Shidong, Liu Hongmu, Chen Shusen, Huang Handong, Zhang Bingkun, Chen Xuzhong, Liu Tao, Wen Dingchao, Huang Sheng, and Ning Zulin; The editors are Xu Wenbin, Yuan Jun, Zhang Shoujun, and Pan Junfeng. This data is of great significance for understanding the collection and conservation of
Camellia plants in Central China.
